About The Role
Team Siyan is looking to hire a technician who will be inhouse prepping and maintaining technology. We're looking for a highly motivated candidate with some experience in video, LED, general AV and/or control systems. You'll be maintaining our stock, ensuring it remains in good condition and is ready for hire.
- Maintaining the AV department equipment by inspecting/cleaning and repairing as necessary with our servic and repair department
- Testing and prepping kit as per job requirements in a timely fashion
- Checking in and checking out equipment as per procedures
- Organising storage of AV stock as per working policy
- Testing and repairing equipment
- Working as part of our wider team to help deliver exceptional service to our clients, this may include loading of vans and truck as well as assisting the warehouse team in general duties
- Developing and improving working practices to ensure equipment stays in good condition
- Soldering and micro soldering LED
- Carrying out stock checks and assisting with company stock control procedures
Our standard working hours are 9-5:30 (including a 30 minute paid lunch break), but due to the nature of the entertainment industry the role will include regular overtime, including early starts, late finishes and weekend working (6 weekend days over a 3 month period).
About You
Essential
- Basic computer skills
- Attention to detail and high standards of workmanship
- Good level of written and verbal communication
- Numerical skills (a large part of the job involves accurately counting items)
- Ability to load and unload trucks and carry out other manual handling tasks safely
- Flexible attitude to overtime as required, including some late nights, early mornings and weekends
- Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines
- Ability to follow company H&S procedures and safe systems of work
Desirable (we can provide additional training in all these areas)
- Experience or awareness of entertainment industry AV, LED or lighting technologies
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Soldering ability / Micro soldering experience advantageous
- Counterbalance forklift license
- Previous experience in the entertainment industry
